United Methodist Women

Winfield United Methodist Women Welcome You!

The ladies meet at 6:00pm on the second Monday of each month at the church.

At that time, we have a short devotional, prayer time and then dive into our project for the month.

In recent months we have packed Birthday Party kits for the children of those seeking assistance via Heart and Hand. We also created handmade Christmas Cards for a local nursing home and the families who received Christmas Share baskets. We are always open to new ideas of ways to be God’s helping hands.

Currently we hold business meetings every six months (January and July) to plan our future projects.

Who are the United Methodist Women?

The United Methodist Women (UMW) is a global organization of over 800,000. It began on a rainy day in the year 1869, outside the Tremont Methodist Episcopal Church in Boston. The women who assembled that day founded the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society. They succeeded in raising funds to send two female missionaries, one a doctor and the other a teacher, to India to assist the women of that country. This enterprising tradition of service was the forerunner of today’s United Methodist Women.

What is Our Purpose?

The UMW shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

What is Our Focus?

From its’ beginning, the United Methodist Women has focused on ministries with Women, Children and Youth.

Join a movement of women of faith that has been changing the world for over 150 years. Membership is open to all women.

FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE IN ACTION!
