United Methodist Women

Winfield United Methodist Women Welcome You!

The ladies meet at 6:30pm on the second Monday of each month at the Church.
At that time, we share a devotional, fellowship, and conduct our monthly business meeting.

Throughout the year we participate in or support various missions through fund raising and hands on work. In addition, we gather to break bread together, pray for each other and share in our joys at special functions.

Who are the United Methodist Women?

The United Methodist Women (UMW) is a global organization of over 800,000 who trace their beginnings to a rainy day in the year 1869 outside the Tremont Methodist Episcopal Church in Boston. The women who assembled that day founded the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society and succeeded in raising funds to send two female missionaries – one a doctor and the other a teacher -to India to assist the women of that country. This enterprising tradition of service was the forerunner of today’s United Methodist Women.

What is Our Purpose?

United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
